Flights and shafts are inexpensive to replace. Focus your budget on a barrel with dimensions, weight and grip that suit you rather than premium packaging or accessories.

90% tungsten is a useful sweet spot

For many players, 90% tungsten provides a strong balance of slim dimensions and price. A higher percentage can allow an even slimmer barrel, but that is only useful if you actually need those dimensions.

Don't pay for a name unless you want to

Signature player darts can be excellent, but a famous name can affect the price. Compare non-player ranges with similar specifications before deciding.

Cheap and good value are different
